Laser Cutting
Our state-of-the-art fibre laser cutting machine provides precise metal sheet-cutting with accuracy and speed. It ensures precise, clean cuts on various materials, enhancing the quality of your equipment and components. Whether you need intricate designs, or large-scale productions, our laser-cutting capabilities offer unparalleled accuracy and consistency.
Features:
• Our machine can cut a variety of metals, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminium, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
• Cuts aluminium from 1-10 mm thick, mild steel 2-25 mm thick, and stainless steel 1-20 mm thick.
• The laser cutting process results in clean, smooth edges, reducing the need for secondary finishing operations.
• With a large 4 m x 2 m cutting bed, our machine can produce large parts or cut multiple smaller parts from a single sheet, optimising material usage.
Laser Cutting Drawing Submission Guidelines
Drawing Submissions
All drawings must be provided at full scale (1:1) and fully dimensioned in millimetres, with tolerances clearly marked.
Data File Formats
We accept the following formats:
• DXF
• DWG
• Inventor (assembly or part files in any format)*
Please ensure that these files are free of any non-editable components, such as splines, blocks, layers, dimension styles, and line types. Files should not contain zero-length or duplicate entities, nor should they have title blocks. For cutting purposes, entities must be at a 1:1 scale using metric units, and all endpoints should connect without overlaps. Avoid using construction lines or crosshairs.
*Note: All 3D files should originate from sheet metal body features rather than solid bodies.
Submit Data Files
You can send your data files for cutting via a USB drive to our workshop or by emailing them directly to laser@cil.co.nz.
