Conveying Equipment for New Waste Tyre Process
A New Zealand client developed a new waste tyre processing system to divert three million used tyres each year from landfill. The tyres are repurposed as fuel for cement manufacturing, reducing carbon emissions by around 13,000 tonnes annually.

Challenges
The client needed a complete conveying and feed system to integrate with their new process — one that could handle high volumes reliably, interface with existing plant infrastructure, and meet strict environmental and safety requirements
Our Solution
We designed, fabricated, and supervised the installation of a custom feed and conveying system. The system included a flat bottom feed hopper, walking floor, screw feeder, belt conveyor with belt weigher, drag chain conveyor, sorting screen, a 180 m air-supported belt conveyor, and a screw conveyor transfer into the existing plant.
We worked closely with third-party suppliers to incorporate the walking floor and sorting screen into the system, and also provided access platforms, support structures, and guarding solutions for safe, efficient operation.
Outcome
The completed system delivers a consistent, controlled feed of tyre-derived fuel to the cement plant, supporting the client's environmental goals and ensuring long-term operational efficiency.
