Live Bottom Bin and Metered Feed System
We supplied a live bottom bin and metered feed system for a new particleboard plant in Vietnam. The system included an air-supported belt conveyor, hopper with live bottom, and collector screw, all designed, fabricated, supervised for installation, and commissioned by our team.

Challenges
The client required an efficient way to handle rejected wood particles from production, moving them safely into the fuel stream. The material needed to be stored temporarily and then discharged in a consistent, controlled flow to maintain efficiency in the boiler feed process.
Our Solution
We designed and fabricated a hopper with a live bottom feeder to hold and regulate the flow of rejected particles. Material from the hopper was transferred in a metered fashion into a collector screw, then conveyed pneumatically to the boiler as fuel. The integration of an air-supported belt conveyor ensured efficient transfer with minimal material degradation or dusting.
Outcome
The completed system provided the client with a reliable method of capturing, holding, and reusing rejected wood particles. The controlled discharge and transfer improved fuel efficiency, reduced waste, and supported sustainable energy use within the particleboard plant.
